EV low on juice? Soon Google will direct you to the nearest charging station

People driving electric vehicles will soon be able to find those elusive charging stations more easily, thanks to an agreement between the Dept. of Energy and Goggle, as well as $5 million in federal funding. Google will lead a team of over 80 EV-based companies to form the GeoEVSE Forum. It will let drivers use Google Maps, a popular mapping and navigation website, to get drivers up-to-date information on the location of nearest charging stations. Another part of the program lets local governments and private companies apply for funds to offset the cost of installing more chargers, thus building up an EV infrastructure.
