Cable wrap deters rodents from chewing photovoltaic wiring

It's a common problem in the PV industry, though one that is not often talked about: Photovoltaic wiring and cables are frequently exposed to damage by mice, rats, and squirrels. These rodents can chew electrical wiring, causing disruptions in service as well as increased maintenance and replacement costs. Fortunately, some new products are available to help protect expensive photovoltaic installations by deterring rodent chewing.

For example, Roundit 2000 from Federal Mogul is a unique cable wrap designed to deter rodents. With its self-wrapping design, it is fast and easy to apply and also features impressive cut through and abrasion resistance.
With operating temperatures ranging from -70° to 124° C, the product is UL recognized and available in sizes from 3/16 to 1.5 in.
