UV LEDs replace lamps in industrial printer

A new printer uses 75% less energy to print industrial tags.

Now equipped with ultraviolet wavelength LEDs instead of UV lamps, Phoenix Contact's Bluemark printer uses 75% less energy than its predecessor. The LEDs last the lifetime of the printer and only give off a nominal amount of heat, so there are no cooling fans. The printer sits on a desktop and creates plastic terminal block markers as well as wire and equipment markers.
